Third Day and World Vision unite in Australia in 2015

Popular Christian band Third Day are returning to Australia for the first time in 8 years as the headline act for the first World Vision Make a Difference Tour.

Third Day formed in the early 1990s and over the last 20 years have produced eleven studio albums and 35 singles, including “I need a Miracle”, “Cry Out to Jesus”, “Love Song, “Your Love O Lord (Psalm 36)”, and “Show Me Your Glory”. Now working on their first worship album in over 12 years called Lead Us Back, they will return to Australia just before the official launch.

Mac Powell, the lead singer, says, “it’s going to be a very encouraging night. Not only will you hear some older songs, but you’ll hear some brand new songs as well. We’ve always enjoyed playing for our Australian fans and look forward to getting back there in February”.

Third Day have partnered with World Vision for over a decade to help the world’s poor. In that time, their fans have sponsored over 20,000 children.

The first World Vision Make a Difference Tour will start in Sydney in February 2015.  It’s billed as “an interactive, inspiring and cost effective way for people to engage with World Vision’s mission to fight poverty on an individual and community level”.

Michael Bianchi, the vision artist manager for World Vision Australia, identifies “artists, authors, and comedians who are passionate about the work of World Vision and who want to effect change in the world”. He used to work in the same role for World Vision in the United States and was invited to bring this new platform to Australia.

“This first tour is a test”, says Bianchi. “We thought for the first tour we should find artists who are as well aligned with the World Vision brand and mission as possible”. There are plans for two or three more concerts similar to this in 2015.

“Third Day have partnered with World Vision in the US for many years”, says Bianchi. “But there is no Australian equivalent to Third Day. We’d love to partner with Australian artists in the future”. At least one Third Day song has made the Australian Christian music charts every year since 1999.

Third Day will be playing the Make a Difference Tour all around Australia from February 11-21, 2015. You can see the full details here: http://makeadifferencetour.com.au/
