In 2016, Nathan’s dad Andrew had a heartfelt chat with Dominic Steele, and talked about his then 15-year-old son being diagnosed with cancer. He reflects on suffering, marriage, family life, work, chemotherapy, salvation and what it means to have an eternal perspective.
I prayed that God would heal him, I prayed that God would give the doctors skill, and I also prayed that god would give us as parents the ability to walk him through these really hard times.
The community rallied around his family, and Andrew says he was just blown away by how many people were praying for them.
We felt the love of people from Jannali Anglican Church, from the world … I’ve been blown away by how kind people have been.
One particular Bible verse spoke to Andrew’s heart – Psalm 61:1-2.
Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,
I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Pray
Some prayer points to help
Pray that God would comfort Nathan’s family, and that he would enable them to grieve as those with hope.
