Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the biggest new movie around, set to open at cinemas across Australia on April 25. It’s the latest star-studded Marvel superhero adventure, and veteran Hollywood stuntman Will Harper was involved behind the scenes on the super sequel.
Recently in Australia working on Pacific Rim 2, Harper caught up with Eternity‘s own Ben McEachen to share his life story, and it’s more gripping than any movie.
Having got his start in stunts on the first Rambo movie (First Blood, 1982) and The A-Team TV series, Will recently has worked on blockbusters such as Iron Man 3, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Jungle Book, Dr Strange and the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel.
“You can be used by God to help others. I’m telling you that that’s better than any movie, any stunt, anything.” – Will Harper
But what happened in Will’s real life, during the past few decades, could be a movie itself. From starting out in motocross racing to crashing out, being consumed by drug addiction and doing jail time, Will Harper’s personal story of redemption rests in what he came to learn was more exciting than any Hollywood blockbuster or narcotic fix.
“You can be used by God to help others. I’m telling you that that’s better than any movie, any stunt, anything. It’s the ultimate – working for the creator of the universe.
“It’s the most amazing life being born again and knowing you will get to spend eternity with God in paradise,” says Harper.
