Several Christian mission organisations are set to unite in location as well as purpose this November, as Global Recordings Network (GRN), Wycliffe Bible Translators, Crossroads Bible Institute and Interserve move into the same building.

This month, Global Recordings Network has completed their new missions centre in Prospect, west of Sydney Australia. The fully renovated building will not only house the offices and studios of GRN, but also the Sydney based operations of the other mission agencies and ministries.

Robert Love from Wycliffe is pleased about the move, and says it reflects their already close working relationship with GRN. “We’re very close partners in mission; both our organisations have a vision for engaging people with Scriptures in their own language. That’s why we’re particularly looking forward to continuing the close association with GRN.”

The showpieces of the new building are the six modern sound recording studios which will facilitate GRN’s work in recording audio messages about Jesus for as many as possible of the world’s most remote inhabitants. The recordings bring together translators, tribal musicians, recordists and the latest advances in new technology, so GRN can produce audio recordings of Bible stories and evangelistic messages in the languages of the least reached language groups of the world.

“Working with other mission agencies in a shared building is a natural choice for us,” explains GRN CEO Christine Platt. “We work every day with Bible translators such as Wycliffe to translate our recordings. We also record audio recordings of their Bible translations for use by the two thirds of the world who can’t read or prefer not to read.”

Platt explains further that GRN’s recordings are also used by mission agencies and church planters that want to reach specific language groups, and are in fact often the only Christian resource available.

“We work with mission agencies across the world to distribute the recordings. GRN has a particular focus on small people groups with less than ten thousand speakers. We have even produced recordings for people groups with less than one hundred speakers as we want to give everyone the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus in their heart language.”

The official building opening is on Saturday 3rd November and all are welcome. Please RSVP by telephone on +61-2-9899-2211 for catering purposes. For more information on GRN: http://globalrecordings.net/en/au
