Sydney dance/pop band Silver Cities this week releases its debut song – Lights.

The band, formerly known as Seasons, features vocals from Season 2 Australian Idol finalist Hayley Jensen. Since Idol, Hayley has been making a name for herself in Christian and mainstream music: performing for the Prime Minister, the troops in Iraq, and singing in churches and entertainment centres throughout the country.

Silver Cities has a cutting edge club/rock-inspired sound, that’s been described as “a fusion of Paramore and Calvin Harris”. The song Lights is a high energy, uplifting song that Hayley says is about hope and victory.

Check out the group’s video clip at silvercities.net. March will be a busy time with Silver Cities performing at Forest Edge and Easterfest, and releasing their debut album.

In other music news, after a two-year wait, Hillsong UNITED has announced the February 23 release of its 12th full length album, and third studio recording titled Zion.

UNITED has brought some of the world’s most popular praise and worship songs to the Church. This new studio album follows the highly impactful 2011 release Aftermath which topped the Christian charts internationally and was their highest selling album to date.

UNITED’s Joel Houston says the new album has a fresh sound that is noticeably different from previous projects.
