Evermore tour launch and The Voice contestant’s Dad’s church releases an EP

New Zealand alternative rockers Evermore, this week launch one of the biggest tours of their career – the Hero tour.

The troubadours who recently headlined Easterfest will play 30 shows throughout mainland states and the ACT, starting inVictoria.

After being given a “leg up” by major acts such as Maroon 5 and Matchbox 20, the 11-times ARIA nominated band is returning the favor by giving a number of faith-based acts the opportunity to open for them on their first headline Australian tour.

Lead singer Jon Hume says some of the openers include SilverCities, Compliments Of Gus, Selahphonic, Jonnday, Redruth and The Soorlys.

Michael Paynter has garnered national attention for his appearance on The Voice, and now Gateway Church in Melbourne, led by Michael’s father Rick – has launched Belief To Behaviour the new Gateway Youth EP.

Produced by M Squared Productions (which, incidentally, is owned by Michael and his mate Michael DeLorenzis from The Kingdom), Belief To Behaviour is Gateway Youth’s third EP and features singers and musicians from the church.

The title song (Belief to Behaviour) is the first released to radio. It’s been described as a song with a cutting edge club sound, but in a worship context.

Rick Paynter says the whole aim of the project is to “speak life into today’s youth culture”.
