Amy Grant’s first studio project in ten years – How Mercy Looks From Here – is a tribute to “different angles of mercy” Grant has experienced in her life. It’s been recently released in Australia and is making its way up the Australian Christian album charts.

Grant has sold more than 30 million albums and won six GRAMMY Awards in multiple categories, beginning with the million selling Age to Age in 1982, and 25 GMA Dove Awards.

She’s also had six #1 hits- including Baby, Baby and Every Heartbeat – and she’s one of only two Christian artists to be awarded a star on the legendary Walk of Fame in Hollywood.

Late last month, Amy Grant’s new album, How Mercy Looks From Here debuted at #1 on the US Soundscan Christian Album chart, and #12 on the Billboard 200 mainstream chart.

The project – her 18th – marks Grant’s first full length album in ten years and features some of her favorite artists including James Taylor, Carole King, Sheryl Crow, and her husband, Vince Gill.

The singer dedicated How Mercy Looks From Here to her mother who gave her the advice to “sing something that matters.”

“I felt inspired by that song, making this record, and hopefully the end result is that it’s incredibly encouraging and life affirming in the midst of hard times.”

“The idea – How mercy looks from here – describes the last several years of my life, with the ups and downs of losing my mother and a couple of good friends; the highs and lows of any family, really, is a good chance to see different angles of mercy.”

Bill Biddle from Crossroad Distributors in Australia says Amy’s new album is one of the best selling Christian albums online this week.
