A series that non-believers might *actually* be interested in

Why does Jesus’ life still matter? It’s a question this new short course seeks to answer.

A new short course is seeing Bible study numbers double and people coming to Jesus.

The course, titled Jesus the Game Changer, introduces people to Jesus and is set to kick off this weekend in over 200 churches around Australia.

The series, produced by Olive Tree Media, explores how the life and teaching of Jesus changed the world. It features interviews with pastors, authors and researchers who discuss why Jesus’ life still matters today. It has been picked up by Christian television networks around the world.

Olive Tree Media’s CEO Karl Faase said in a press release, “we are pleased that the series is being taken up by broadcasters but our ultimate goal is that local churches use the series, like they would Alpha, to influence their family, friends and local community with the message of Jesus. Every church that uses the series is another opportunity for the gospel to influence our country”.

“We have a number of people who are part of our Church community but not followers of Jesus who have signed up.” — Mark Edwards, Inglewood Community Church, Perth

And that is exactly what is happening.

Inglewood Community Church in Perth have almost doubled their life groups (Bible studies) as they plan to begin their Jesus the Game Changer series. Mark Edwards, pastor of the church said, “We have a number of people who are part of our Church community but not followers of Jesus who have signed up. It’s very exciting.”

On Sydney’s northern beaches, Manly Life Church began their series last weekend and Pastor Tim Giovanelli said, “We started this morning and had a bunch of people pray to follow Jesus. An exciting start!”

Over 200 churches have signed up to run Jesus the Game Changer in the six weeks leading up to Easter. There are churches from every state and territory represented, from many denominations.

“I was expecting the small to middle sized churches to get on board but we are very encouraged to see some of the largest churches in NSW, Qld, Victoria and South Australia have signed up,” said Faase.

Many of the churches that are running the series in their Sunday services are also running it in their kids’ programmes. The kids programme features a new Jesus the Game Changer kids song written by Australia’s leading Christian kids artist Colin Buchanan.
